Abstract: Attend about a descriptive study, retrospective, of quantitative approach, about victims of external causes less than 10 years old, answered in First Aid Treatment and Emergency Room. External causes are classified in the ICD – 10 (International Classification of Disease) like accident of transportation, homicide, suicide, fall and others. These external causes are considered problems of Public Health due to high morbidity and mortality and expensive costs. In spite of service locals for these victims have form to be filled in like FAA ( Ficha de Atendimento Ambulatorial), filled in Emergency Room, important information about the accident and about the victims are lost by incomplete filled of the treatment form, or because it doesn’t have item about necessary information to be filled for studying of external causes. Therefore , the objectives of these study are to analyze the quantity of the data of these victims described in the FAA, record and Summary of Admission, increased of those later gotten by interview together with their legal responsible, at home, and to analyze the kinds of external causes identified related them with sex and age of the children, as well as, local and circumstance of the event, nature of the injury and affected parts of body, to substantiate the specifics programs of prevention of these causes. The study was achieved covering the months of April to July in 2007. The form treatment selected in this period were read and written out for FCVE (Ficha do Centro de Vigilância Epidemiológica/Secretaria do Estado de São Paulo), and the lack data were completed with data gotten in the interview with families of the studied children. The studied population was 29 children with less than 10 years old and victims of external causes attended in First Aid Treatment and Emergency Room in Populina (SP). In the study, 100% of the victims were attended and discharged. The variables sex, age, nature of the injury, part of the body and kind of discharge were found in 100% in the attended cards selected. Educational level, the way like ones arrived in the attended local, incident local, if families had seen/someone told what happened were information looked for only through interview with them during residence visit achieved by researcher in 21 cases (72,4%) of the 29 selected, so seven relatives were changed of city and one family denied. The masculine sex predominated representing 65.5% of the 29 cases, being the ages 5 to 9 years it more frequently. In the children with complete information (N&eq;21) the accidents of transportation with cyclists occupied the first place with 33.3%, following by fall and accidental impacts with object or person with 23.8% each. About the nature of the injury, cut/hole and laceration predominated representing 42.8%. The part of the body more affect was lower extremity with 42.8% of the cases. The way of transportation more used show variable predominating particular vehicle with 42.8% of the cases. About the local where the accidents happened home appeared in majorg number representing 38% of the children with complete information. The biggest part of the accidents happened during children’s games.
